Waitlist

Our Master Waitlist is the starting point for families who have been approved to welcome a Rose n’ Thistle Golden Retriever into their home.

After your application has been approved, a $500 non-refundable deposit places you on our Master Waitlist. Your deposit is applied toward the final purchase price of your puppy. From there, we stay in communication with our waiting families through our weekly updates, sharing information about upcoming breedings, confirmed pregnancies, puppies, and life here at Rose n’ Thistle Farm.

When a Litter Is Born

When one of our litters is born, we work through our Master Waitlist in the order deposits were received. We will contact families whose preferences may be a good match for that particular litter and ask whether they would like to move forward with that litter.

Being contacted about a litter does not mean you are being assigned a puppy. It simply means that, based on your preferences and the puppies available, we believe there may be a good match within that litter. If you decide that litter is a good fit for your family, you will be moved from our Master Waitlist onto that specific litter list. If you choose to pass on that litter, you can remain on our Master Waitlist for a future litter, according to our deposit and waitlist policies.

Staying Active on the Waitlist

Communication is an important part of our waitlist process. If we contact you about a litter that matches your preferences, you will have 24 hours to respond. If we do not hear from you within that timeframe, your deposit will be considered forfeited and your place on the waitlist will be released so we can offer the opportunity to the next family.

If we have not heard from you in any form for one full year—including replies to our weekly updates or confirmation that you still wish to remain on the waitlist—your deposit will no longer be considered valid and your place on the waitlist will be removed.

A simple reply to our updates or confirmation that you are still interested is all we need to keep that communication open.

Deposit Transfer Policy

Our $500 deposit is non-refundable and is applied toward the final purchase price of your puppy. If you have placed your deposit but have not yet been matched to a specific puppy or accepted a place on a specific litter list, your deposit may be transferred to one future litter of ours. Once you have accepted a place on a specific litter list or have been matched with a puppy, your deposit is no longer transferable.
