After your application has been submitted, we will respond within three business days. Filling out an application does not guarantee approval for a puppy, we reserve the right to deny applications if we feel we are not the right fit for you.
Waitlist & Deposit Policy
Once your application has been approved, a $500 non-refundable deposit is required to join our Master Waitlist. This deposit is applied toward the final purchase price of your puppy.
We understand that choosing the right puppy and waiting for the right litter is an important decision. Our goal is to make the process as fair, organized, and transparent as possible for every family on our list.
Please read the following policies carefully:
Deposits are non-refundable. Your $500 deposit is applied toward the final purchase price of your puppy.
One-time deposit transfer: If you have placed a deposit but have not yet been matched to a specific puppy or accepted a place on a specific litter list, you may transfer your deposit to one future litter of ours. Once you have accepted a place on a specific litter list or have been matched with a puppy, your deposit is no longer transferable.
24-hour response window: When we contact you about an available litter that matches your preferences, you will have 24 hours to respond and let us know whether you would like to move forward with that litter. If we do not hear from you within that timeframe, your deposit will be considered forfeited and your place on the waitlist will be released so we can offer the opportunity to the next family.
Staying active on the waitlist: Communication is important to us. If we have not heard from you in any form for one full year—including replies to our weekly updates or confirmation that you still wish to remain on the waitlist—your deposit will no longer be considered valid and your place on the waitlist will be removed.
These policies allow us to keep our waitlist accurate and ensure that families who are actively ready for a puppy have the opportunity to move forward without unnecessary delays. They also help us responsibly manage our litters and the time and care we put into each waiting family.
Staying in Communication
Our wait times can vary depending on litter size, gender, color, individual preferences, breeding schedules, and other factors that are outside of our control. We provide regular updates throughout the process, including confirmed breedings, pregnancies, puppy births, weekly photos, and video updates.
If you are currently on our Master Waitlist and still planning to welcome one of our Goldens, you do not need to do anything beyond staying engaged with our updates and responding when we reach out to you. A simple reply confirming that you are still interested is enough to keep the communication open.
Our goal is always to work together with our waiting families so that when the right puppy comes along, we are ready to make that match.
How Our Puppy Matching Process Works
Our process is designed to give each family the best possible opportunity to be matched with the right puppy.
After your application has been approved, a $500 non-refundable deposit places you on our Master Waitlist. From there, we stay in communication with our waiting families through our weekly updates as we work through upcoming breedings, pregnancies, and litters.
From the Master Waitlist to a Specific Litter
When a litter is born, we will work down our Master Waitlist in the order deposits were received and contact families whose preferences may be a good match for that particular litter.
At that time, we will reach out to see if you are interested in joining that specific litter list. Being contacted about a litter does not mean you are being assigned a puppy yet. It simply means we believe there is a possibility that a puppy from that litter may be a good fit for what you are looking for.
If you choose to move forward, you will be placed on that litter's list.
Why We Wait Until Six Weeks for Puppy Selection
We intentionally do not allow families to choose their individual puppy at birth. Instead, puppy selections take place when the puppies are approximately six weeks old and have completed their veterinary examination.
There are several important reasons for this:
First, we want to make sure every puppy is healthy. Before families make their selections, all of the puppies have been examined by our veterinarian so we can ensure they have a clean bill of health and address any concerns before placement.
Second, puppies change dramatically during those first several weeks. At birth, it is simply too early to accurately evaluate the traits that matter when making a lifelong match. By six weeks, we have a much clearer picture of each puppy's personality, disposition, structure, coat color, overall appearance, and individual temperament.
Waiting also allows us to spend those first six weeks getting to know each puppy as an individual. Because we raise our puppies right here on our farm and are closely involved in their daily care and socialization, we have the opportunity to observe their personalities develop rather than making assumptions based solely on what we see at birth.
Choosing Your Puppy
Once the puppies are six weeks old and have completed their veterinary examination, we begin puppy selections.
We work through the specific litter list in the order families were placed on that list, contacting each family individually when it is their turn.
At that time, we will send you personalized videos of the puppies that are still available, along with photos and information to help you make your decision. This gives you the opportunity to see each puppy's personality, appearance, movement, structure, coat, and overall demeanor before choosing.
You will then select the puppy you feel is the best fit for your family.
We believe this process gives our families a much more complete picture of their puppy than choosing based on a newborn photo alone. Our goal is not simply to place puppies—it is to make thoughtful, intentional matches that set both the puppy and their new family up for success.
Our puppies are not simply chosen at birth. They are raised, observed, evaluated, and intentionally matched.
Puppy Pick Up Information
Puppies must be picked up the weekend of turning 8 weeks. We allow a 3 day grace period, but after that we charge a $15 a day boarding fee to keep your puppy. This is due to the fact that we will have to continue with required vet visits/vaccines, maintenance, food, socialization, training, etc.. Also we know the importance of insuring the puppy is in their new home as soon as age appropriate for the bonding experience with their new family.
We do allow pick ups here at the farm Paoli IN, but also provide two pick up dates for those traveling far. We will meet once with puppy clients at a specific time and location in Bloomington IN and another meet up, once again at a specific time/location in New Albany IN (Louisville KY area). Other than those options provided, we have transportation options available (ground and flight) at an additional cost.
